SoftSmile at Treatment Planning in Aligner Orthodontics Congress

The SoftSmile team recently traveled to Hamburg, Germany for the Treatment Planning in Aligner Orthodontics (TPAO) Congress from November 24th to 25th. The highly specialized event was focused on educating orthodontists about advanced strategies for treating complex orthodontic cases and truly owning their digital treatment planning. This was SoftSmile and VISION’s debut in the European market and a huge opportunity to showcase the latest version of our treatment planning system.
Over 1000 orthodontists from across the globe attended TPAO and the event created a space for collective knowledge and helped orthodontists achieve a comprehensive understanding of aligner treatments and protocols to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
The selected venue for the TPAO Congress was Schuppen 52. Not the typical conference venue, this refurbished quay shed from the imperial era in the port of Hamburg boasted remarkable city views. The organizers succeeded in creating an industrial chic environment that gave this event focused on the most innovative techniques in aligner treatment planning a uniquely modern edge.
On the first day of the event, after attendees had registered, there were a series of lectures by respected speakers throughout the day. These sessions covered treatment planning guidance and methods for implementing in-house aligner workflows.
In a session entitled “New Aligner Staging and Bite Setting Protocols: Tailoring Strategies for Individual Requirements” Matthias Peper, emphasized the importance of orthodontists owning the creation of case setups: “Orthodontists are ultimately responsible for setups, not technicians.” This notion has been one of SoftSmile’s founding principles: to enable orthodontists to control the treatment planning process with ease.
Our Founder & CEO, Khamzat Asabaev, presented VISION at the TPAO Software Lounge. We demonstrated VISION’s capacity to treat complex cases and how doctors and clinics can utilize SoftSmile’s end-to-end treatment planning services to own their digital workflow.

During both days of the event, attendees visited the SoftSmile booth to learn about SoftSmile’s digital assistant. Our Product Manager, Marina Kuzina, provided demonstrations of VISION, the Web Portal, WebViewer, and the Doctor-Facing Application.
In addition to offering product demonstrations, our booth featured stations for attendees to experience the VISION WebViewer which can be accessed via a URL on any device.
The SoftSmile team was greatly impressed by the work of the organizers and enjoyed the opportunity to present VISION to a diverse group of renowned clinicians.
